Stakes winner Giant Gentleman to stand in Brazil

| Giant Gentleman, runner-up to Mizzen Mast in the 2001 Malibu Stakes (G1), will stand the Southern Hemisphere season at Brazilian-based Haras Santarem in Sao Jose dos Pinhais.The six-year-old Florida-bred son of Montbrook is owned by a partnership, which includes Haras Santarem and several other studs.
Giant Gentleman won four of ten starts in two seasons, including the 2001 Princeton Stakes at the Meadowlands, and amassed career earnings of $318,900. He also finished second to Mizzen Mast in the 2002 Strub Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita Park and third to Volponi in the ‘01 Pegasus Handicap (G2) at the Meadowlands. Out of the winning Fappiano mare Exploriano, Giant Gentleman is a full brother to stakes winner Little Lee and a half brother to stakes-placed winner Excise.–Michael Burns and Diego Mitagstein. |
